Bursaries

We offer bursaries of £3,000 for the first year of students’ courses in the following undergraduate degrees at The University of Hertfordshire; 

• Social Work
• Nursing (Adult/Child/Mental Health/Learning Disabilities)
• Paramedic Science
• Midwifery
• Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging
• Dietetics
• Physiotherapy
• Therapeutic Radiography

Social Work students will also be eligible for a further Social Work Bursary (up to £4,000) in their second and third years of study. Similarly, NHS Learning Support Fund Bursaries (up to £5,000) are available for other healthcare courses for each year of study.

Below is a groundbreaking package of support that will ensure care-experienced students receive a comprehensive level of support to give them every chance of success as they prepare for their vocational careers.

• JAM Foundation Year 1 Bursary (£3,000)
• £1800 a year additional annual bursary.(subject to eligibility)
• Contextual entry offer for care experienced students
• Guaranteed 12 months accommodation. Really important for care-leavers who may have no 'family home'.  Students can access 12month accommodation for the duration of studies, if they want it
• 50% discount on the above accommodation on de Havilland campus.
• 1-2-1 point of contact/mentor for all uni and life admin assistance.
• Funding to cover the cost of a laptop.
• Other financial assistance is available if needed
• £1000 graduation bonus to help with costs/travels for attending the ceremony and the associated costs.

Eligible students will be invited to apply for the above bursaries and support once they have successfully enrolled on the relevant course at The University of Hertfordshire.
